McLaren MP4-12C Spider in Geneva
Source: http://watch-anish.com/
As much as we love watches sometimes we get a bit crazy about cars too… This was one of those cases – a friend of ours in Geneva (who we will keep hidden from your eyes for now) just got his new McLaren MP4-12C shipped to him recently! And that’s not your average one – it’s a Spider (and the first Spider I ever saw live by the way).
Of course we went out, and took it for a spin.. and then did some cool photos with our automotive photographer @Markovsky. Honestly loving the simplicity of the interior, the details of the exterior and I think the car is a bit undervalued, as people with enough money to afford it tend to buy more Ferraris and Lambos these days.
It’s not going to be a long post, but just to tell you a bit about the car – the original MP4-12C was introduced in 2011 and became a great success for the brand. Designed by Frank Stephenson (responsible for the Ferrari F430!) it has a very cool minimalistic look to it. A lot of carbon fibre used in this McLaren to reduce weight (i suppose) and the interior is actually pretty comfortable and not tiring (which is kind of rare for a sports vehicle).
Speaking of it being a sports vehicle – its top speed is 328 km/h, and it only takes 3.1 seconds to get to 100 km/h!
Of course we could not shoot the car empty-wristed so we took a couple of awesome watches with us – the first one is one of our favourites from Arnold & Son – the TB88, and the second one is the absolute favourite of mine DeBethune DB28 tourbillon insert heart emoji here
So thanks for checking out this post and I’ll see you next time! ;)
